The former Head of State and Leading Flagbearer Aspirant of the SLPP, Retired Brigadier Bio has returned to Sierra Leone earlier than scheduled as a result of the widespread public anger over government removal of subsidies on petroleum products and the austerity measures.
Bio departed Heathrow International airport in the morning hours of Saturday 19th November and will be expected to arrive at the Lungi International airport in the evening hours of Saturday. Bio has returned to Sierra Leone with his lovely wife, Fatima, and daughter, Amina.
In the coming days following his arrival, Brigadier Bio will be expected to meet with SLPP national officers and senior stakeholders to have discussions on the party’s position on a range of economic issues including the much criticised fuel subsidy saga, government austerity measures and the recent government budget and statement of economic and financial policies for the financial year 2017.
It can be recalled that on the 13th September, Bio arrived in the United Kingdom after months of academic research in Sierra Leone in pursuit of his doctorate programme (PhD) currently with the University of Bradford. Brigadier Bio, who is a Senior Research Fellow of the University of Bradford, is still writing his doctoral thesis in fulfilment for a doctorate degree.
