By Aiah Sodengbe‎ (KDDA--UK)…..
It is with great sadness that I report the death of Mrs. Sia Mary Musa (Nee Kaingbanja), who passed away in Sierra Leone on 3rd August 2015. This sad event occurred in Freetown, the Capital city of Sierra Leone.

Mrs. Musa was the first female Mayor of the Koidu New Sembehun City Council in Kono District. Prior to her role as Mayor, she was Headteacher at the United Methodist Church Girls School in Koidu city for twenty five years, a Teacher at Jaiama Secondary School (JSS) and Koidu Secondary School (KSS) in Kono District for many years. She was one of the towering pillars of Kono District and a disciplinarian with uncompromising principles of high standards. She was adored by her students and all those who knew her. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. S.E.K. Musa, who was a senior civil servant in Sierra Leone for many years. Mrs. Musa is survived by her children; Sia Mary Sawyer, Kumba Edna Keili, Finda Eileen Mattia, Yei Gladys Musa, Sahr Edward Musa, several step children, several nephews and nieces. Grand children include Yeneg Joanah Keili, Tornya Joan Keili, Joel Keili, Jonathan Keili, Sia Blessing Mattia, Sahr Mattia, Edna Sunkali Koroma, and Joshua Jeremiah John Sawyer. Other relatives at home and abroad include the Gbenda family, the Gborie family, the Kaingbanja family, the Keili family, the Koroma family, the Lamina family, the Musa family, the Nyandemo family, the Tutu family, and the Yamba family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this period of grief. We believe that her passing leaves a void in the hearts and lives of those who knew her. She will be greatly missed by the disadvantaged and vulnerable for whom she dedicated much of her time.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
