A special committee set up by NAC (National Advisory Council) of the ruling APC party to investigate allegations that the Hono…urable Vice President, Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana threatened to kill the garrulous and irritable Deputy Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Karamoh Kabba has concluded its findings.
The committee headed by Senior Presidential Adviser at State House, Alhaji I.B. Kargbo is to report its findings at a special NAC meeting yet to be scheduled. Already some details of the report are emerging in the public domain.
According to reports, those who testified before the special investigating committee are well-known opponents of the Vice President. They include Diana Finda Konomanyi, who is currently battling a scandalous divorce matter in court, Hon. Leonard Balogun Koroma, Francis Gbondo and the complainant himself. Karamoh Kabba.
When the Vice President testified before the investigating committee, his testimony left committee members startled.
It came out very clearly, during the investigation sessions that, the special investigation was a plot meant to destroy the political career and ambition of the Vice President to run for the post of APC flagbearer in 2018.
According to reliable sources, the outcome of the report will be made available to the APC Parliamentary Group to consider the possibility of invoking an impeachment clause against the Vice President.
A disgruntled senior APC official told the Global Times that, some people in the party’s top hierarchy were using some Kono politicians to destroy their Kono brother. “This is the same thing Siaka Stevens did when he brought Musa Kabia from Port Loko District to nominate Joseph Saidu Momoh as successor against his Port Loko brother, VP S.I. Koroma”, recalled an APC grandee.
Several attempts have been made in the past, to expel the Vice President from the ruling party. Meanwhile, Diana Konomanyi has been promised the runningmate slot to John Sisay of Sierra Rutile Limited. John Sisay’s campaign caravan was recently spotted in Kailahun District. Investigations continue.
